Ingredients:

1 pound lean hamburger. I use 90% lean.

salt and pepper to your liking

3 heaping tablespoons of flour - key word here is 'heaping'
![]() |
3 to 4 cups of milk - skim milk does not work - Begin with 3 cups, and you'll know if you need to add more if it becomes too thick.

does not have to be this brand

You will need this after you add your milk.

First you brown your hamburger meat in a large pan. I usually use the deeper one, I think they call that size a 'dutch oven'. Also it's best to use a non-stick type of pan. If you don't have this type, you might have to add a little butter if you use the lean hamburger. If you don't use the lean, then don't add the butter. Just be sure and drain the grease after you cook the hamburger meat.
At my house, it's the non-stick deep large pan, 90% or better hamburger meat. A note: this meal is known as a breakfast, and most of the time we have it as a breakfast, but we also like it as a dinner meal.

As you begin to brown your hamburger, add your salt and pepper and as it begins to brown, add your flour. Keep cooking, just your hamburger, salt, pepper, and flour. Brown it real good, but don't burn it! (picture 1)
Next, add your milk and use your whisk to stir. Stir, stir, stir. Medium heat. (picture 2, 3) You have to watch it here, because you don't want it to burn at the bottom and it will if you let it sit without stirring. So you watch it real close while stirring until it boils. Add your worcestershire sauce. By this point, it should begin to thicken. Lower the heat to low once it boils. Cook it on low a few more minutes, if it becomes too thick, add more milk about 1/4 cup at a time until you like the consistency. It should be like a white gravy. (picture 4)
That's it, you're done.
Cut you up some toasted white bread into small cubes (picture 5) and serve your creamed beef over your toast. I usually serve it with hash browns and/or eggs. (picture 6 ) Here are some pictures for you!
